obv. Laureate and cuirassed bust of Gallienus right,
surrounded by the legend IMP C P LIC GALLIENVS AVG
rev. Soldier, helmeted, in military attire, standing left, holding
spear in right hand and leaning on shield with left hand,
surrounded by the legend VIRTVS AVGG
Normally we see the letters SC (for Senatus Consultum) in the fields on either side of the soldier. This specimen is lacking these letters. This is probably a mistake by the die cutter. This variant is not published in de standard reference literature. This specimen is as such very rare.
