The bear was considered a symbol of the moon in ancient Europe. These large mammals hibernate in winter, just as the moon hides behind the clouds during the day. The animal depicted on the high relief Brown Bear coin rests under the gilded moons light and looks not dangerous. But the predators clumsy appearance is deceptive. Its power, speed, and intelligence leave enemies no chance. This silver 45 mm coin issued by Niue teaches not to reveal all trump cards simultaneously but to patiently train a fortitude.
