Hades, stern ruler of the underworld and guardian of the souls of the deceased, is depicted in commanding stillness on the 2 oz silver coin. He appears as an unforgiving judge, maintaining the balance between the living and the dead.
The design centers on his gilded trident of authority, skulls, and the souls under his eternal watch. Persephone, goddess of spring and queen of the underworld, is shown held in his grasp a symbol of her destined confinement. Crafted in high relief, every detail echoes the haunting silence of the underworld and Hades indomitable power.
